With a population of 20 million souls, Sao Paulo is the largest city in South America. It is also the economic engine not only for Brazil but for all of Latin America. Most of Brazil's gross national product is generated in Sao Paulo and its environs.

All the car manufacturers and their suppliers have their own plants in Brazil. The creation of the shared market (Mercosul) between Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay and Paraguay gave rise to a trading zone with a population of more than 250 people.

The Mugele Group representation in Brazil was converted to an independent company at the beginning of 1999. The headquarters for Mugele do Brasil Comercia e Servico Ltda. is located in Sao Paulo. An additional office has been set up in Sorocaba, where number of German companies have been established.
